Pottery

Pottey is a very large subject that is currently developing. It is one of the oldest proffesions and crafts and therefore also a precious part of our common heritance. Pottery is fun and the clay gives unlimited ways to shape exiting objects.The clay is a hard but fair teacher, if you go with it you will be rewarded with beautiful pieces throughout all the process. But if you cheat and do shortcuts, you will not be rewarded.

I have done pottery for interior design and ware for a number of years and I sometimes do things on demand. They are sometimes unique pieces or a whole set. Feel welcome to visit the gallery to see some of my previous work.

Orders can be accepted with a longer term of agreement, because pottery requiers more time and patience than for example glass, because of the process. After shaping, it has to dry, get finished and after it is dry as a bone it needs firing to become hard. The first firing is  called bisque. Then it usually gets glazed and then fired again. Sometimes you encounter problems in the process, and have to start again. And this is one of the things that makes pottery so interesting; it is a constant challange. Nothing can be taken for granted.

The satifaction from a well performed firing is well worth fighting for!
